The Garden Route Natural Science Research Facility relocated in 2016 and is still undergoing additions and expanding over the course of 2021 and will not be available for use other than existing in-house projects.

We are interested in research inclination that includes ecology, evolution and behaviour development, comparative and environmental physiology, plant and cellular molecular biology, neurobiology, genetics, and phylogenetic integrity.

Our interests range from problems at the genomic level to the analysis of ecosystems, the interrelationships and interactions that take place between biotic organisms’ and the abiotic environment and the study of processes that take place during such interactions. Research is on a variety of terrestrial and marine environments, and a wide range of organisms. These programs involve laboratory and field-based studies as well as theoretical work in these specific areas of science.

Our data library is being expanded to accommodate papers of contention that break the barriers of the standard establishment thinking, open to peer review published to the public domain.

We are interested in the application and testing of basic science in applied contexts in conservation biology, ecotoxicology, human health, and social injustices derived from over-exploitation of the indigenous natural resources in our particular geographical biome. Full integrative research, crossing levels of all mentioned sciences, from molecular mechanics to global systems and interrelationships, linking theory with our own data analysis interpreted through the use of statistical and mathematical tools, using natural history sciences to guide the development and testing of rigorous accepted conceptual frameworks and designing and formulating alternative methods and hypothesis.
